Private Pilots’ License
About this book
This book provides the RPL pilot with all of the information specified in the Part 61 MOS up to the theory examination that is required for the PPL – and includes additional material that we feel is appropriate.
The Civil Aviation Safety Authority defines in its syllabus, the minimum level of knowledge required for the issue of each grade of pilot’s licence. This is as it must be. But our experience has shown that pilots should know their aircraft, themselves, the airborne environment and the procedures in greater depth than the minimum.
While this book contains all the need-to-know elements it also contains sufficient information to enable the student to actually understand what it’s all about. This is important not only for greater safety but also to act as the foundation stone for later advancement to CPL studies. The study that a pilot completes at this very early stage is the most important that he or she will ever complete. It is the basis for all that follows and it is vital that it is well understood.
